It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nathan Bryant Vliek of Decatur, Michigan, born in Paw Paw, Michigan, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Noel Vliek; his grandparents, Ward Vliek and Evelyn Rice; and his aunt Nannette Vliek. He is survived by: his parents, Jeffrey Carl Vliek and Sharon Sue Vliek (Rice); his close friends, Kevin Britton and Matt Stull; his uncle Tom Baushke; his grandparents, Richard Rice and Gloria Vliek; and his siblings, Erin Grubbs (Jordan Bruni), Candice Cady (Brian), Carly Burkett (Henry), Kaland Vliek and Kelsey Bell (Luke). He is also survived by 7 nephews, 6 nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Help M.U.S.I.C. program, a non-profit organization created by Decatur High School students.
