With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Joseph Schanz of Decatur, Michigan, who passed away on February 3, 2021 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Lou Schanz (Wegeler); and his sister Robin Schanz. He is survived by: his father Joseph Schanz (Linda) of Decatur; his wife Anne Schanz; his children, Amanda Mansfield (Jeremy) of Decatur, Kelly Nevill (Randy) of Dowagiac, Philip Schanz of Decatur, Evan Schanz of Decatur and Makayla Schanz (Dakota Fochs) of Marcellus; his grandchildren, Tyler, Lilly, Kaden, Ava and Zoe; and his siblings, Gary Schanz of Decatur, Debra Howland (Lee) of Sterling Heights, Sandy Rinehart (Larry) of Decatur and Pamela Dykstra (Dennis) of Decatur. He is also survived by many extended family members and close friends.
