Burton J. Houtman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Burton J. Houtman of Decatur, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 28, 2024 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Burton J. Houtman to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Florence Houtman; his son Burton "Jim" Houtman; and his siblings, Harriet Robinson, Wes Houtman and Marlene Pendowski.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Houtman (Long); his daughters, Deborah Stull (Ken) and Suzanne Soave (John); his grandchildren, Jill Checkley (Craig), Kevin Stull, Kyle Stull (Katie), Eric Stull, Ryan Soave (Stephanie) and Joe Soave (Azzy); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pena (Steven), Zachary Checkley (Rebecca), Jared Checkley, Andrew Stull, Wyatt Stull, Ella Stull, Jack Soave and Lola Soave; his great great grandchildren, Chase Pena, Hudson Pena and John Checkley; his brother Roger Houtman; and his stepchildren, Tim Burkitt (Joanne), Bruce Burkitt (Lori), Tom Burkitt (Linda), Kelly Burkitt (Leslie) and Jan Wilson (Randy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lakeside Cemetery - Decatur (122 E Edgar Bergen Blvd, Decatur, MI 49045).
