With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bert D. Goens of Decatur, Michigan, born in Lawrence, Michigan, who passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bert D. Goens to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Goens and Dorothe Goens (Woodford); and his wife Constance Goens. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Jones (Larry), Sharon Goens-Bradley (Mary Ann) and Sheila Clarke (Jack); his grandchildren, Chynna Clarke, Jack Clarke III and Kaijex Goens-Bradley; and his brother Norman "Jake" Goens.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Van Buren Intermediate School District, 490 South Paw Paw St., Lawrence, MI 49064.

“My sincere condolences. I golfed with Bert and while I knew him personally to be a wonderful man it was through talking with others I learned what an accomplished man was he. We met one day in Walmart and saying hi to him he noticed my Marine Corps cap. I learned then he too was a brother Marine. God Speed Marine, Semper Fi. You will be missed.”
