It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Hartley of Dearborn, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Shirley Jean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley Jean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rivus Lain and Edith Lain (Webb). She is survived by: her husband John Hartley; her son Bruce Hartley; her children-in-law, Artees Hartley and David Friese; her sister-in-law Helene; her stepdaughter Janet Rhode (Shirley); and her grandsons, Seth Hartley and Michael Friese. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
