It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Mattis (Dearborn, Michigan), born in Ubly, Michigan, who passed away on February 27, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank; and her siblings, Gertrude, Ann, Stanley, Irene, Clem, Martha, Ruth and Ervin.
She is survived by: her children, David (Lorraine), Diane Droba (late Dennis), Lynn Kocan (Richard) and Jim (Mary); her grandchildren, Christine Deacon (Andy), Kimberly Kocan, Jessica Carolan (Joel), Michael Mattis (Heather), Paul Mattis (Kori), Justin Droba (Mel) and Neil Kocan (Amanda); her great grandchildren, Danny, Alex, Nick, Luke (Deacon) and Veronica (Carolan); her sisters, Sophie (Sawle) and Louise (Gibson); and her brother-in-law Richard Krug.
She and Frank took dance lessons, bowled together, played bridge and pinochle, and joined a golf league at the age of 40, playing regularly with family and friends until COVID at age 95.
