With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Francis Walsh Jr. (Dearborn, Michigan), who passed away on April 19, 2021 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Walsh and Joseph Walsh; his wife Christine; his stepson Daniel Kelley; and his sisters, Marie and Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his brother Greg; his stepsons, R. J. and Matthew Kelley; his nephew John David Walsh; his nieces, Sarah Mellen and Kathleen Kelly; his great-nephews, Jack Kelly and Colin Mellen; and his great-niece Nora Walsh.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Dearborn Library Foundation in Joe's name.

“I served with Joe on the USS Greenwich Bay AVP-41 1962-1963. Joe was the Communications Officer and we served on the bridge together on his watch. Retired from the Navy as Captain Joseph F. Walsh and we attended seven Greenwich Bay reunions together, celebrated around the east coast. Rest in peace, my friend.”
