It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Francis Kernen (Dearborn Heights, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Beatrice Kernen; and his brothers, Dick Kernen (late Charlene), Pat Kernen (Barb) and John Kernen (Karen). He is survived by: his father Robert Kernen; his daughters, Renee Guastella (Jon) and Lauren Kernen; his grandchildren, Jayden, Olivia, Mila and Noah; and his siblings, Tom Kernen (Patti) and Janis Redinger. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanley Turowski Funeral Home (25509 W Warren St, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (47650 N Territorial Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
