He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Jimmy Kuebler; and his siblings, Joan West (late Bob) and Leonard Zak (late Mary). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Daniel Zak, Laura Zak, Sue Kuebler Zak (Mike Dickinson) and Michael Zak; his son-in-law Joe Kidd; his siblings, Doloris Zak and Eugene Zak (Ruth); and his stepsons, Bob Promo (Rosanne) and Ron Promo (Mary). He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and their children.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanley Turowski Funeral Home (25509 W Warren St, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127). The lying in state was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Linus Church (6466 N Evangeline St, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
