He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gilbert and Emma Gilbert (Zandi); his siblings, Leslie Gilbert, LaVerne Bartosz and June Dolan; his cousin Dorothy Andrus; and his son-in-law Clare Morton.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Thomas; his children, Roberta Morton, Richard Gilbert (Shelley) and Carol Daly (Jim); his grandchildren, Lisa Boduch (Jeff), Chad Morton, Jim Daly (Nicole), John Daly (Carrie), Paul Daly (Christina), Thomas Gilbert (Julie), Marc Gilbert and Kurt Gilbert (Abbey); and his brother-in-law Richard Thomas (Patt). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, other loving family members and good friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Allen Funeral Home (9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Davison Cemetery (10080 E Potter Rd, Davison, MI 48423).
