He was predeceased by: his parents, Lon Alexander and Mary Alexander (Wisda); and his siblings, Richard, Lonnie and Candy.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Schwind; his children, Noelle Saunders (Steve), Adam Alexander (Stephanie), Eli Alexander (Amy) and Nick Alexander (Lisa); and his sisters, Teresa Leonard and Karen Wheeler. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or American Cancer Society, in Phillip's memory.
