She was predeceased by: her parents, Eldon Garner and Frances Garner; her husband Charles Root; and her brother Kirk Garner. She is survived by: her children, Leslie Donahue (Rick) and Chris Allard (Mary); her stepsons, Gary Root (Ellen) and Duane Root (Gail); her grandchildren, Sarah Donahue, Allison Noyes (Tucker), Dan Allard (Sarah), Mike Allard, Matt Allard, Melissa Allen (Steve), Andy Root (Tammy), Joe Root and Laura Root; her great grandchild Patrick; and her pet Macey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East, in Janice's memory.
