He was predeceased by: his father Bernie Kirby; his wife Caroline Convis; his grandson Kevin Stanbaugh; and his son-in-law Norris Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Sally Simmons, Carla Ward (Cecil) and Lee Kirby (LaRae); his grandchildren, Jennifer Marcin (Mike), Carrie Simmons (Ryan Cleveland), Kyle Simmons (Jessica) and Eli Kirby; and his great grandchildren, Brenna Christian, Lily Simmons, Nolan Marcin, Spencer Marcin and Novo Cleveland.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
