He was predeceased by: his parents, Olin West and Alta West of Dansville; and his son Phillip West. He is survived by: his wife Isabel; his daughters, Jan Weirauch and Linda Pulver (Joe); and his stepdaughters, Dawn Stephans, Tracy Allen (Mike), Janet Stephans, Kristine Cook and Laura Bisel (Steve). He is also survived by four grandsons, eight step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
