He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Atkinson and Myrtle Atkinson; and his siblings, Jae, Gwen, Lewis and Ruby.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Susan Oswald (Steve) of Rittman, Sheri Schmidt (Nate) of Hudsonville and Sandi Rodriguez of Kirtland, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Vicka, Alex Schmidt, Chase and Gavin Rodriguez; and his great grandchild Miles Schmidt.
