It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shawn Carlson of Crystal Falls, Michigan, born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carlson and Patricia Carlson (Berg). He is survived by: his wife Audrey Smith. He is also survived by several in-laws, eleven nieces and nephews, several cousins, and devoted friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to The Trevor Project, Dickinson Trail Network, or any charity that supports science education.
