He was predeceased by: his parents, Ratko Petroff and Mary Petroff (Kavech); and his siblings, Peter, George, James, Mary, Margaret, Helen and Suzanne.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Garavet; his children, Beth Marie Meli (Peter) of Negaunee, MI, Peggy Susan Nardi (Anthony) of Ishpeming, MI and Edward Jon Petroff of Laurium, MI; and his brothers-in-law, James "Bucky" Garavet and Ronald Sherwood. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
