She was predeceased by: her mother Erma Young; her husband Lynn See; and her brothers, Gary and Mert Young. She is survived by: her sons, Jason Bricker (Ginny) and Eric See; her stepdaughter Katie Gordon; and her grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Chase Bricker and Corey Miller.

Memorials in memory of Val may be made to the Sanilac County Humane Society.
