He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Burgess and Myrtle Burgess (Delong); and his siblings, Doug Burgess, Myrtle Essenmacher, Jeannie Brabant, Ethel Bopra, Lila Burgess, Dorothy Burgess and Alice Barr.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen Mortimer of Croswell; his children, Rick Burgess (Julie) of Croswell, Tammy Fye (Ezra) of Ft. Gratiot and Deborah Kidd of Lakeport; his grandchildren, Danielle Brabant, Chelsea Ward (Brian), Jerrod Burgess (Melissa), Emily Pennington (Dustin) and Matt Kidd (Keera Roerig); and his siblings-in-law, Tom Barr, Kirk Mortimer (Colleen), Lee Mortimer (Ann), Mary Lou Kolowich (Greg), Jane Mortimer and Dianne Peasley (Fred). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
