He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Markel and Diane Markel (Fockler); and his grandparents, Eugene, Helen Fockler, Clair and Geneva Markel.

He is survived by: his brothers, Louis Markel (Bridget) and Christopher Markel (Amy); his friends, Eric, Tessa Jones, Molly Murray and Kellen Seeley; and his stepmother Karen Markel. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

All donations will go towards supporting the MEN2B community.
