He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Sr. Hovanec and Audrey M. Hovanec (Vicic); and his siblings, Mary Ann Brown, Joseph P. Hovanec, Jr. and John M. Hovanec.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Hovanec (Nancy) of Croswell, Martha Pierce (James) of Huber Heights, OH, Nancy Tanner of Croswell, Anne Craig (Randy) of Croswell, Audrey Martin (Thomas) of Marysville and Amy Boswell (Jeffrey) of Orchard Park, NY. He is also survived by one uncle, many nieces and nephews.
