He was predeceased by: his parent Elmer Gundlach; and his siblings, Lorraine, Frances, Lawrence and Richard.

He is survived by: his parent Clara Gundlach; his spouse Pilar; his children, Edward (Jane) of West Bloomfield and Gigi Hugo of Ferndale; his brother Theodore of Bad Axe; his grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, Harrison, Nathan, Sarah and Ethan; and also Pilar.
