He was predeceased by: his father Heinrich Esders; and his siblings, Lilli, Marlene and Karl Heinz. He is survived by: his wife Judy Sue Esders; his children, Anita Koon (Bob), Pamela Frantz (Michael), Steve Esders (Pam), Monica Lopiccolo, Heidi Slone (Patrick) and Rachel Frantz (Ronald); and his sister Mimi. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
