He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Newman (Kimball); his wife Helga Sauter (Germany); his father Ray Newman; and his siblings, Roelene Kelly and Gilbert Newman.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Byrnes (Mark), Robert Newman (Heather) and Jurgen Sauter (Heika); his grandchildren, Amanda Hunter (Brandon), Angela Newman, Jennifer Seymour (Jay), Sarah Sauter, Jessica Byrnes and Aaron Francis; and his siblings, Gene Newman (Marlene) and Karen Laza (Bob). He is also survived by many extended family members and numerous friends.
