He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Herald and Polly Herald (Deaton); his parents-in-law, Wayne and Eudell; and his stepmother Lizzy.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Matlock; his cousin Letch; his children, Casey Herald of Lansing and Linda Breiler (Tony) of Corunna; his grandchildren, Melanie, Noah Herald, Ashley and Kyle Breiler; and his siblings, Roy Herald (Pat) of Newport, Bill Herald (Barb) of Alexandria, Ray (Euleen) of Alexandria, Roberta Sampley of Hermitage and Jane Matacia of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step siblings.
