She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Athey and Elsie Athey (Farrer); her husband William D. Burns; and her siblings, Beverly Bryson, Nancy Thompson, Kay Hughes, Sally Oberley, Betty Kleinedler, Roseanne Wilson, Barbara McClenathan, Paul, Gerald and Edward Athey.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Spaniola (Anthony) of Troy and Clinton "Bob" Burns of Corunna; her grandchildren, Anthony Spaniola (Jesse) of Massachusetts, Kendyll Schaeffer (Dave) of South Carolina, Nicholas Spaniola of Troy and Rob Burns (Lisa) of Bancroft; her great grandchildren, William and Ruth Schaeffer; her grandsons, Hunter and Miles Spaniola; and her brother Bill Athey (Janice). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
