He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Smolek and Marie Smolek (Hudecek); his wife Josephine Radosa; his siblings, Joseph Smolek and Mary Heinz; and his siblings-in-law, Emil Heinz and Helen Smolek.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Smolek (Helen) of Corunna, Daniel Smolek (Kara) of Ada, Donald Smolek (Sherrie) of Morrice and Christine Rood of Columbia City, IN; his grandchildren, Amanda Martindale (Levi), Martin Smolek (Jessica), Kenneth Smolek, Jamie Hammer (Derek), Michael Rood (Jill), Owen and Emma Smolek; and his great grandchildren, Brislol, Kennedy Martindale, Lola, Potter, Kinsey Smolek, Paige and Kayla Hammer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
