He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Atkinson and Doris Atkinson (Seelhoff); and his wife Carole Atkinson. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Westerlund (James), Amy Prchlik (Gary), Cami Atkinson (Joanie) and Brian Atkinson (Heather); his grandchildren, Connor, Alexander, Nathan, Lauren, Kristen (Dakota), Ryan, Garrett, Dennie, Elizabeth, Delaney, Rylee (Elliott) and Mayson; his great grandchild Milo George; and his brother Lester Atkinson (Alberta). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel (520 W Main St, Owosso, MI 48867). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:20 PM at the Riverside Cemetery N. Chipman.
Memorial Contributions in George's name are suggested to the Berklee School of Music or the Salem Lutheran Church of Owosso.
