He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Opper and Joanne Opper (Miedema); his granddaughter River Opper; his brother Tom Opper; and his nieces, Kim Davis and Kristen Morey.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Opper; his children, Barb Leary (Dave), Corey Opper, Matthew Opper (Heather) and Travis Opper (Madalynn); his grandchildren, Sierra Coon (Tanner), Emma Leary (August), Samuel Leary (Taylor Domanowski), Lucas Opper, Evan Rambow, Eden Opper and Easton Opper; his great grandchild Theo Levi Coon; his siblings, Richard Opper (Sue), Peggy Whipple (Gordon) and Luann Lampen (Dave); his brothers-in-law, Larry Jenkins (Diane) and Gordy Jenkins (Carol); his pet Daisy; and his nephew Craig Opper. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.
