He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Grootenhuis and Anne Grootenhuis-VandeKoppel (Smith); his sister Elizabeth Grootenhuis; his stepfather Joe VandeKoppel; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Wolffis, Donna and Harv Bennink.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Grootenhuis (Busman); his daughters, Tammy Huff (Dale) and Debbie Miller (Rick); his grandchildren, Katelynn Grossenbacher (Mike), Kristina Bursley (Kyle), Casie Emmons (Ben), Rob Miller (Chelsea) and Heidi Miller (Andy Adams); his great grandchildren, Alayna, Lilith, Zander, Maddox, Saige, Reese, Jolene and Maisy; his siblings, John Grootenhuis (Barb), Paul VandeKoppel (Eileen) and Joycene Wolffis; his brothers-in-law, Ken Busman (Marlene) and Wes Busman (Bonnie); and his friend Jerry Bos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
