He was predeceased by: his father Robert Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Diane Barrett (VanAllsburg); his children, Steven Barrett (Morgan Barrett) and Kim Barrett (Matt Schad); his grandchildren, Bryn Barrett and Brooke Barrett; his siblings, Karen Cross, David Barrett (Jodi), Karla Waldie (Gunner) and John Barrett (Beverly); and his siblings-in-law, Lester VanAllsburg (Cathie), Verna Allen (Louis) and Darlene Roper (Richard). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
