He was predeceased by: his parents, Obbie Denson and Gladys Denson; his wife Janet; his siblings, Arnold, Betty, Margaret and Letha; and his sister-in-law Linda.
He is survived by: his children, James Denson II, Tammy Hughes (Dan), Lori Swatsworth (Bill), Lee Childress (Chris), Leslie VanderLinde (Mark) and Joseph Denson (Roxanne); his grandchildren, Valerie (Bill), James III (Amy), Jocelyn, Gabrielle (Al), Robert, Alisha, Ellie, Maggie, Nicole (Erik), Sarah (Tony), Stacy (Cj), Eric (Nikki), Jacob Cody (James), Jesse (Marcie), Kayla (Ryan) and Matthew; his brother Jay Denson (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Don Tubbs Jr. (April), Cliff Tubbs (Deb), Sid Tubbs (Linda), Ron Tubbs (Mary), Rick Hartman (Marcia), Carl Hartman (Jan) and Deb Castenholz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
