It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Katherine (Kamps) VanderKolk of Coopersville, Michigan, born in Wayland, Michigan, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Kamps and Gertrude Kamps (VanTil); her daughter Barb Smoes; and her brothers, Abe Kamps (Marge), Ed Kamps (Sylvia), Bill Kamps (Dorothy), Gradus Kamps and Gene Kamps.
She is survived by: her husband Edward VanderKolk; her children, Kathy VanderKolk, Mary Handrich (Ted), Kay Lillie (Donald), Charles VanderKolk (Bonnie) and Amy Steenstra (Eric); her son-in-law Dale Smoes (Jane); her brother Clarence Kamps (Rena); and her sisters-in-law, Shirley Kamps and Flora Schout (Arlyn). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
