She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Lee Slager; her children, Hunter Slager and Tani Lee Bouwman; and her former husband Joseph Paul Sommerdyke. She is survived by: her son Ross Slager (Sally); her children-in-law, Linda Smith (Jerry) and Edward Bouwman; and her close friend William "Hap" Hecker. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
