He was predeceased by: his parents, Albright Abbott and Gladys Abbott (Williams); his son Tim Abbott; his brothers, Bob Abbott, Jim Abbott and Jack Abbott (Sharon); and his close friend Jackie Koster.
He is survived by: his son Brian Abbott (Ronda); his grandchildren, Megan Herrygers (Josh), Tim Abbott (Taylor), Morgan Abbott and Madison Abbott; his great grandchildren, Brynlee Abbott, Layne Abbott, Ben Herrygers and Ryan Herrygers; his brother Jerry Abbott (Susan); and his close friends, Dick Raymer and George Raymer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
