He is survived by: his wife Denise Bing; and his children, Justin Barboza (Dana) of Monroe, MI, Joseph Furtwangler of Riverview, MI, Melina Barboza of Monroe, Michigan, Marisa Barboza of Monroe, Michigan and Diane Desjarden (Jason) of Cooks. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in Mel's honor can be designated to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
