He was predeceased by: his wife Rita E. Paas; his parents, Nicholas Paas and Bernice Paas; his grandson Michael Bevins Jr.; his brother Ed Paas (Lois); his sister-in-law Gloria Paas; and his brothers, Richard Obetts (Mary), Carl Obetts, Ray Obetts (Char) and Ed Obetts.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanne Bevins (Michael), Elizabeth Annable (Larry), James Jr. Paas (Valerie), Julie Paas (Gary Vachon), Denise Curtis (Mark), Mary DeRade (Ron) and Daniel Paas (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Abby Pepper (Matt), Nicholas Annable (Jill), Karl Annable, Tracy Huizinga (Andy), Jennifer Petack (Joe), Emily Karas (Matt), Sarah Huber, Eric Curtis (Justine), Andrew Curtis (Merrian), Kelsey Curtis, James DeRade (Kara), Hillary Zahrt (Brandon), Daniel Paas and Elizabeth Paas; his great grandchildren, Corwin Pepper, Jacob Pepper, Katharine Pepper, Wyatt Pepper, Lauren Annable, Bradley Annable, Peyton Petack, Reese Petack, Owen Petack, Kennedy Karas, Giuliana Curtis, Anthony Curtis, Aidan Curtis, Ella Curtis, Annie DeRade and Collins Zahrt; his siblings, Nick Paas and Barb Rector (Larry); and his parents-in-law, Phil Obetts (Jackie), Barbara Obetts and Arlene Obetts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
