He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Cary Nichols and Michael Nichols (Babette); his grandchild R. J. Glance Estella; and his brothers, Lloyd, Don and Danny Nichols. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled American Veterans, the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital appreciated.
