He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Christine Maurer (Damon); his children, Terry Maurer (Kate), Dawn Harrison (Richard), Tammy Emig (Ted), Laurie Devol and Shawn Maurer (Colette); and his parents, Charles Darwin Maurer and Alpha Marie Maurer (McIntire). He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
