He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Shurtz; his stepmother Marlene; his brother Randy; and his stepbrother Chuck. He is survived by: his wife Annette Shurtz; his children, Brooke Shurtz and Jonathon Shurtz (Bri); his stepdaughter Amanda Phillips (Adam); and his granddaughter Esmeralda Phillips (Esme).
