He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Mendell and Elizabeth Mendell (Schell); his sister Barbara Roat (Mendell); and his grandson Brenden Isabell. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Newcomb (Matthew), Christopher Mendell (Liesa) and Valerie Mendell; his stepdaughter Simmer Champie (Josh); his grandchildren, Michael Newcomb (Mo), Christian Newcomb, Lathan Mendell, Cecile Mendell, Chance Champie, Jett Champie and Lane Champie; his great grandchildren, Adelaide Newcomb and Nikolas Newcomb; and his former wife Deborah Woitha.
