He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Bontrager and Mary Bontrager (Yoder); his son Michael; his grandson Larry Bailey; his brother Alvin; and his parents-in-law, Sylvanis and Sylvia Yoder.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Yoder; his children, Karen Lamb (Tony), Linda Schwartz (Kip) and Ronnie Bontrager (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Robert (Meagan), Dylan (Tiffany), Chelsea (Josh), Samantha, Dru, Cory (Megan), Janett (Ian) and Jenny; and his siblings, William Bontrager (Dena), John Bontrager (Phyllis), Pete Bontrager (Alma), Toby Bontrager (Norma), Ray Bontrager (Martha), Fannie Mae Hochstetler (Bill), Elizabeth Miller (Leroy) and Irene Yoder (Irvin). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of his life will take place later due to the COVID pandemic.
