He is survived by: his wife Hattie; his children, Ashli Freeman (Robert) of Walkerton and Jesse Scruggs Jr. of Benton Harbor; his father James Neal Scruggs of Coloma; his brother Jeffery Scruggs of Berrien Springs; his grandchildren, Jude and Lucy; his stepchildren, Raine Tuttle, Cameron Tuttle and Skylar Tuttle; and his friend Josh Blakeslee.

Memorial donations in Jesse's memory may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service.
