He was predeceased by: his parent Caldonia Tate; his brothers, Vernon Tate, Magellan Tate, Samie Lee Tate, Willie James Tate, Samuel Tate, Earnest Tate, Leon Tate, Raymond Parker and Charles Parker; and his daughter Gloria Jean Tate-Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Mozella; and his children, Terry Rouse of North Carolina, Vernon Collier (Monica) of Florida, Patrick Tate (Ylonda) of Tennessee, Bethany Tate of Tennessee, Aisha Blanks of Benton Harbor, MI, Katisha Atkins (Duane) of Benton Harbor, MI and Michael Blanks (Rachel) of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
