She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Smith and Iva Smith (Roth); her husband Roy Tappenden; her siblings, Vera Bergman, Darrel Smith and Frances Stoppenbach; and her son-in-law Mike Tomson.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Harmon, Gary Tappenden (Debbie), Michael Tappenden and Kathy Tappenden-Tomson; and her grandchildren, Sonja Griswold, Eric Tappenden (Betsy), Ryan Tappenden (Sarah), Aaron Tappenden (Tara), Dan Tappenden (Holly), Kevin Tappenden (Megan), Brent Tappenden (Renee) and Nicole Tappenden (Greg Hess). She is also survived by many great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Quincy United Methodist Church or the Quincy Public Library.
