He was predeceased by: his sisters, Arlene Mitchell and June Bater; his half-brothers, Stanley Bator and Leonard Bater; his granddaughter Dana LaHaie; his great grandchild Reed LaHaie; and his cousin Ola JudeJohn.
He is survived by: his wife Rosalee A. Hodge (Rathbun); his children, Virginia Richards (Bruce) of Grand Rapids, Doug Reed (Pam) of Hastings, Julia Fox (Larry) of Grandville, Teresa Riegling (Tim) of Grand Rapids and Scott Hodge (Stacey) of Coldwater; his sister Lyla Rose of Marquette; his cousin Janet Blythe of Holland; and his close friend John Pearson of Kalamazoo. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
