He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Cox and Belva Cox (Erskine). He is survived by: his children, Ricky Cox, Jr. of Coldwater, Amanda Hull of Hillsdale and Crystal McLaughlin (Christopher) of Kalamazoo; his sister Mary Larue Spaulding (Tom) of Coldwater; and his grandchildren, Hayleigh, Elizabeth, Lyndsey, Cheyenne, Ashley, Crystal and Cody.
