He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Downey and Priscilla Downey (Haynes). He is survived by: his wife Jean Downey of Coldwater; his son Richard Downey II (Tim Goldman) of New York City; his siblings, Evelyn "Joyce" Otis (Lyle) of Coldwater and John Downey (Dena) of Coldwater; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Myers (Jean) and Judy Hilbert (Craig). He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
