She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Rigg and Mary Rigg (Brown); her husband Doug Gates; and her siblings, Remus Rigg, Sr., Virgil Rigg, Velma Shumway, Ralph Rigg, Ardella Mundy, Edith Beck and John Rigg.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Gates (Mike Rieger) of Durham, NC, Cam Williams (David) of Defiance, OH and Beth Dick (Charles) of Muskegon; her sister Helen Brott of Marshall; her grandchildren, Sarah Dick, Andrew Maxey and Nicole Dowswell; and her great grandchildren, Skyler and Jackson. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
