He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Hinsdale and Phyllis Hinsdale (Laurent); his wife Mary Jepson; and his grandson Gregory Vickery Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Monica Hinsdale of Coldwater and Linda Kochendorfer (Greg) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Melinda Cafarelli (John), Chelsea Kochendorfer, Duane Mundy and Garrett Kochendorfer; and his great grandchildren, Khloe Thurman, Ansley Cafarelli and Judy Foster (Ruth McBride).

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude's or the Crippled Children's Fund.
